From July 27 to 29, the cathedral welcomed the international Pilgrim Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe on its journey through the Philippines, ahead of the 500th anniversary of the apparition in 2031.

His image keeps watch from the left niche of our main altar, holding the keys entrusted to him by Christ. His feast is kept every June 29.

The earlier church, with its twin bell towers, faced San Pedro Street.
Generations of Dabawenyos were baptised, married, and mourned here.
The church grew into the seat of the Archdiocese of Davao.
The present cathedral takes shape under its vinta-inspired roof.
