A New Priest for the Archdiocese of Davao

On May 13, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., San Pedro Cathedral witnessed the priestly ordination of Rev. Fr. Roldan “Dan” Balon Baliano. Most Rev. Romulo G. Valles, D.D., Archbishop of Davao, conferred the Sacrament of Holy Orders.

Fr. Dan entered Holy Apostles Senior Seminary at the age of 33 and was ordained to the diaconate on September 8, 2025. As a new priest, he has been assigned as Procurator of St. Francis Xavier College Seminary in Catalunan Grande.

The same celebration honored Rev. Msgr. Edgar Rodriguez, the Archdiocese’s oldest living diocesan priest, on his 60th sacerdotal anniversary. Ordained on May 1, 1966, by the late Archbishop Clovis Thibault, Msgr. Rodriguez described his journey as “rooted in the unconditional faithfulness of God.”
